National Apprenticeship Week
This week was national apprenticeship week, Geosynthetics Ltd has been finding out more about their latest apprentice Harry and what he thinks about his apprenticeship. Harry joined 6 months ago as a level 3 digital marketing apprentice.
Here’s his thoughts on his apprenticeship.
What made you choose to take part in an apprenticeship?
Harry: I attended college for a year and completed a creative media and journalism course. I really enjoyed some aspects of the course such as creating a marketing campaign, however I was bored of the classroom environment. I chose to do a marketing apprenticeship due to being able to put what I’ve learned into practice and developing these skills in a different environment. Also earning money while learning was a huge benefit to me.
Why did you choose to do your apprenticeship at Geosynthetics Ltd?
Harry: I really liked the fact that when I researched the company I saw that they did a lot of work with young people. Also, during my interview the team I met made me feel really comfortable.
What do/did you enjoy most about your apprenticeship?
Harry: I really enjoy putting what I’ve learned into practice and actually seeing a result from It. The company gives you a lot of freedom with what work you take on and you’re not just restricted to one aspect of marketing. I’ve already been involved with designing promotional items for our customers and creating email campaigns based on my own ideas.
Are/ Were you given a lot of support and guidance during your apprenticeship?
Harry: Yes, everyone within the company gives me support and guidance when I need it whether it’s for work I’m producing for the company or college work. It’s a very supportive and friendly atmosphere.
What advice would you give to someone who is interested in taking the path of an apprenticeship?
Harry: It’s definitely a very good option and can lead to some big opportunity’s as long as you choose the right company for you. Don’t be scared to try something new.
