Geosynthetics Ltd would like to introduce our Technical Manager, Romani Ibrahim. Romani’s main area of focus is the Rail Sector, however he is also offering technical seminars covering a range of applications including; Reinforced Soils Slopes and Walls, Slope Protection, Load Transfer Platforms and Embankments on soft soils and on top of piles. We asked Romani a few questions about himself to get to know him better, check out his answers below:

What experience/education do you have within this industry?

I have around 19 years of Geosynthetic industry experience since graduating as a civil engineer at Swansea University back in 1997. I’ve enjoyed a wide range of responsibilities in the industry with some reputable companies e.g. business development, technical support and product development. One of my favourite achievements was the delivery of a 32m high retaining wall at Al Jais mountain road working closely with Halcrow in Dubai and the PWD in RAK, UAE.

What made you join Geosynthetics?

The company has a great reputation in the UK market, diverse product offering, solid and customer focussed business model and a mature yet fun working environment.

What do you enjoy the most about what you do?

Providing sound advice and ensuring customers and colleagues queries are addressed to their satisfaction.

How would you describe yourself?

Friendly, genuine and enjoy providing meaningful input to people around me.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

I spend time with my kids and family, church work and sports if I can fit them in!
