Home for the Holidays
Geosynthetics Ltd were delighted to see our University students who are home for the holidays and decided to pop in for a catch up.
Dan, Doug and Alfie are taking a well-earned rest from their studies for Easter before returning for revision and exams.
All three had exciting news for us. Doug has just completed a six-month Teamwork Design Project, working on plans for a new aqueduct from inception to detailed design. He also reported that he had won a place on an international development scheme, Unitech International which will see him working and studying abroad during his final year including an international exchange in Milan.
Dan is in his Final Masters year at Plymouth University and has taken on the role of Project Manager in interdisciplinary Design, managing a team of nine engineers. He has recently secured a graduate position with Mott Macdonald as a tunnel engineer in Reading. A position he will take up after travelling around Eastern Europe.
Alfie Is currently completing his second year at the University of Leeds and has just completed a design project for a five-storey office block in concrete and steel with an associated technical design brief. He is really looking forward to his third year as he told us he will be heading out to Perth to continue his studies at the University of Western Australia.
All three of them said they are looking forward to returning to work at Geosynthetics Ltd in the summer to complete their internships and continue their learning experience.
Dan Doug and Alfie are previous winners of our prestigious Student Development Award and if there are any local prospective Civil Engineering Degree Students who would like to follow in their footsteps please use this link to our Careers page to apply.
