This week we are taking a look back at when Golpla® Grass & Gravel Reinforcement was installed at East Park Wolverhampton. The 18 hectare East Park dates back to 1896 and is located near to the centre of Wolverhampton. A £1.5 million restoration programme has been undertaken to bring the Victorian park back to its former glory with the help of a Heritage Lottery Fund grant of £1 million.

One of the areas in need of attention was the old artificial sports pitch as the surface had become unplayable. It was decided to re-instate the area to extend the events field and install grass reinforcement to one third of the pitch area. This provides occasional vehicle parking for a cycle speedway group and special events held in the park. To blend in with the surrounding park a grass surface was chosen which would need reinforcing to allow use as a car park.
