Geosynthetics’ Engineering department, working with B & G Contractors and our recommended installer Intergeo successfully designed and completed this project for Aldi at their head office in Atherstone Warwickshire.

Due to the growth of the company Aldi were looking to extend the car parking facilities at their head office. The site chosen was on a slope so needed to be levelled and a retaining wall constructing to hold back the remaining slope.

After considering several different systems Geosynthetics’ Engineering Department recommended and designed a Gravity based retaining wall system using our Rockbox gabion baskets supplied by MPS and filled with local stone.

We were able to demonstrate that this solution, as well as it being aesthetically pleasing, would be an economical solution.

We also supplied our Trinter erosion control matting, this was used to hold the soil in place at the top of the wall allowing vegetation to become established.
